We are a collaboration between the Faculty of Forestry at Artvin Çoruh University (Türkiye) and the Tree Ring Laboratory of the University of Arizona (USA). Our mission is to advance the science of dendrochronology by combining local expertise in forestry and ecology with international leadership in tree-ring research. Through this summer course, we aim to foster global academic exchange, inspire young researchers, and strengthen the connection between science and sustainable management of natural resources.
The International Summer Course in Dendrochronology is a unique two-week program designed to provide intensive training in the science of tree rings. Participants will gain hands-on experience in field and laboratory techniques, learn how to analyze tree-ring data, and explore the applications of dendrochronology in climate science, ecology, forestry, and archaeology.
The course is a joint effort between Artvin Çoruh University Faculty of Forestry (Türkiye) and the Tree Ring Laboratory of the University of Arizona (USA). The program is led by internationally recognized experts, including Dr. Ramzi Touchan and Dr. David Meko, along with faculty from Artvin Çoruh University.
